Protesters Flood Wisconsin State Capitol

Today nearly 25,000 protesters filled the capitol in response to proposed legislation to reduce benefits for state employees. These protests, on one level, are very encouraging as they show that at least a segment of the population will boldly stand up for themselves. While protesters are understandably upset about loosing part of their income in this difficult time, the reality is that we are all having our incomes siphoned off by Washington and the criminals that control our monetary system. The current issue is only a symptom of a much greater problem. All who care about the future of prosperity in Wisconsin should focus their attention on the root cause of our economic difficulties.

It will do little good in the long term for state government to attempt to squeeze drops out of regular folks without first putting a stop to the elite interests that are robbing the country blind. The military industry consumes tens of trillions of dollars on a world-wide empire. Hundreds of billions of dollars are squandered by propping up dictators around the world. Wall Street criminals fleece the equity out homeowners and then get rewarded with bailouts. The government gives General Motors our money to ultimately relocate our Janesville jobs to Brazil. The Federal Reserve System operates in secrecy printing up as much of our money as they want and giving it to themselves and their friends. And there are no consequences.

These are the real sources of outrage. We should all be protesting and working to bring government back under the control of the people. It is time for the people to take charge of their state and local governments and restore the balance of power and constitutional accountability that made this nation stable and prosperous. When the egregious corruption of Washington is put to an end there will be true prosperity in Wisconsin once again.
